This document highlights the Terms and Conditions for purchase of structural calculations from Build Calcs Ltd’s website www.beamcalculation.co.uk. By continuing to place your order you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.

1 About beamcalculation.co.uk

1.1 www.beamcalculation.co.uk offers structural calculations, based on specifications provided by the consumer. The goods, in the form of a PDF file, will be provided by Build Calcs Limited, Ingenuity Centre, University of Nottingham Innovation Park, Triumph Road, Nottingham NG7 2TU. Company registered in England, company number 10491363.

2 Provision of the Good(s)

2.1 The service(s) will be delivered in the form of a PDF file document to the email address provided by the customer. The service(s) will include preparing the structural calculations and sketch drawing(s). Build Calcs Ltd cannot be held responsible for any delays in the delivery of the good(s) through transit over the internet or by breaks in service from internet service providers or from email software/providers spam filters. If structural calculations are not received within the time specified, customers are to check the following folders in their email software: Junk, Spam, Deleted Items, Bulk or similar folders.

2.2 Hard copies are available at an additional cost of £29.

2.3 The information provided will be in a format suitable for approval under Building Regulations for the specific items ordered, but will not include full drawings. However, Build Calcs Ltd cannot be held responsible for any decision made by approved Building Control Officers or delegated service providers and our liability is limited to the design of the specific items ordered.

2.4 If queries on the design related to the work undertaken by Build Calcs Ltd are raised by the Building Control Officer, we will deal with these as quickly and efficiently as possible. There will not normally be any additional charge for this work. If additional information is requested by the Building Control Officer which in our opinion is either unnecessary or couldn’t have been foreseen at the time the order was placed, then we reserve the right to make an additional charge for this work. Build Calcs Ltd is under no obligation to provide information requested by the Building Control Officer which in our opinion is either unnecessary or couldn’t have been foreseen at the time the order was placed.

2.5 The cost of the goods is specified on the website and will constitute a quotation for service offered. All costs are exclusive of VAT, which will not be charged. Build Calcs Ltd are not currently registered for VAT.

3 Payment Terms

3.1 You should ensure all information provided is correct before proceeding to payment.

3.2 Build Calcs Ltd use Stripe to process online payment. For any queries about online payment, please refer to Stripe’s terms and conditions.

3.2 As identified by the terms in paragraph 2.1, goods will normally be dispatched within one working hour of confirmed receipt of payment.

4 Contract Terms

4.1 On accepting the quotation and paying for the structural calculation(s), you have agreed to receive the product. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, the order of online structural calculations constitutes the production of a product made to the clients’ specifications. Build Calcs Ltd offer a 30 day money back guarantee, with refunds given at the discretion of Build Calcs Ltd’s management.

4.2 Any revisions to the design for any specific reason will be treated as a new order and will be charged as an additional fee and will be subject to these standard terms and conditions.

5 Copyright

5.1 The copyright of the design belongs to Build Calcs Ltd. You have the right to use the design royalty free for the project it was ordered for. The details should not be used for any other project.

6 Liability

6.1 Build Calcs Ltd cannot be held responsible for any other parts of the structure other than the specifics we have designed for and will not make any assessment of any other element of the structure.

6.2 You should ensure all information provided is correct. Build Calcs Ltd will not be held liable in the event of the input of erroneous or incorrect information by the consumer, nor the incorrect interpretation of information provided. We accept no responsibility for a design which is used for a project different to the one it was intended for.

6.3 Whilst Build Calcs Ltd provide notes for guidance of the consumer in the purchase of individual calculations, these notes do not form any form of instruction for the implementation of the construction or installation of beams and should not be treated as such. Professional guidance should be sought in the event of any queries.

7 General

7.1 We reserve the right to alter the terms and conditions from time to time, but this shall not affect the existing Terms and Conditions accepted by you at the time of purchase from this website.

7.2 Your statutory rights are not affected.
